It’s finally above zero F here, a balmy 5 degrees, I’m sitting here working on promotions for Article Architect and listening to Kenny Chesney’s album, “Be As You Are.”
And the track, “Somewhere In The Sun” is just whacking me upside the head.
I didn’t spend a lot of time in the Caribbean last year, but it was enough that I want to get back there.
No, I *need* to get back there.
I’ve mentioned my dream before — to move my family onto a sailboat and cruise the Caribbean — and some days it just seems so far away. We did ditch the house and move into a travel trailer so we’d be mobile, which is a big step in the right direction.
But as we’re parked here in the snow for the next several months I’m finding my thoughts turning more and more to Tortola, and Antigua, and San Juan.
I have a goal, but I’m realizing I don’t have a *plan* to get to that goal. Oh, I do, but it’s something nebulous, like, “Work really hard at creating and promoting products!”
Pffft! =:)
So this weekend it’s time to plan. Time to create a plan to reach my goal so I can listen to “Somewhere In The Sun” and feel good about it.
Do you have a plan, yourself? Or are you in the same boat I am — working hard, but without a specific focus?

I remember one of your early dreams was to go to Costa Rica and you started a blog about it at: http://costarica.ourfirstyear.com/. That blog has morphed into http://ourfirstyear.com/ which seems to be a mirror to http://jayjennings.com. Dreams are good and everyone has them. But you know as well as I, that for a dream to be more, it needs a rudder, a compass and a map. A nice wind and a new sail doesn’t hurt either. Good luck. Jim
Hmm…not sure why you’re seeing Our First Year blog as a mirror to Jay Jennings blog — they are very different and, in fact, I don’t really ever mention OFY on here because it’s not really marketing-related.
This weekend I’ve been brainstorming some ways to make my dream come true sooner rather than later. It’s going to be fun to see what happens in the coming months!

I share your pain Jay.
We have basically the same goal… mine is; “work real hard and make a bunch of money.”
How much is a “bunch”?
