In my life I’ve spent zillions of hours performing, working, teaching — and while I know I’ve entertained and helped a lot of people, it’s a fleeting* thing. I come from a long line of missionaries and preachers and love that I have that history, but I see my works pale in comparison to the contributions of my family and ancestors. Mine are for an instance — their’s are for eternity.

I’ve recently been reading about using the gifts/talents God has given me for His glory and for the most part I haven’t done that in my life. It’s one of a few thousand things I regret. So I’d like to change that starting now.

Honestly, I’m not sure how to do that. But I think writing and teaching are innate gifts that God has given me so I’m going to start there. What you’ll see here are things I think God is showing me. And it may not mean anything to anybody who stumbles across it, but I hope it helps someone.

At the very least, I’m trying to go where God is leading me. If I’m going in the wrong direction I’m sure He’ll let me know.

* I wanted to use the word ephemeral instead of fleeting up above, but whenever I see someone use a word like that I think, “Oh, so you’re smart, eh?” And I don’t mean it as a compliment. So while I’ll mostly use more Joe Sixpack-type words, just know that I could use ephemeral correctly if I wanted.
