Are You Using The Right Article Marketing Strategy?

Article marketing can mean many different things — but at the core it’s a way to drive pre-qualified, targeted traffic to your web site. There are several article marketing strategies that rely on different tweaks in order to get successful results and using the right one can mean big things for your business. Let’s take a look at a couple of those strategies right now.

Article Marketing Strategy #1: Get as many “backlinks” for your site as possible. A backlink is simply a link back to your site and is used in search engine optimization. The number of links leading to a site is one indication of how popular the site is, and can mean a higher ranking on the search engines.

Article Marketing Strategy #2: Give as many people as possible useful information. In this strategy the quality of the information is paramount, because you’re getting your traffic from the people who receive value from the article and want more information. Clicking on the link in your resource box is the call-to-action you want them to take.

Which strategy is better? It depends on how you want to run your online business, really, although out of the two listed here I prefer the latter because I’m more concerned with quality — especially when my name is attached to something that’s online.

Those people using article marketing simply as a way to increase their backlinks are, in general, not as concerned with real people reading the article, just so long as it’s indexed by the search engine spiders. By focusing on that, it’s easy for the quality of an article to suffer, because after all, a search engine’s not going to care how well written an article is.

But isn’t it possible to combine both strategies? Yes it is, and that’s probably the best article marketing strategy to have. Write articles that are high in quality to satisfy the real people who will find it, but also create the backlinks necessary so the search engine spiders will find them.

The great thing about combining the strategies is that if you do ending up ranking higher in the search engines, more people will find your articles — and if they are well-written and give good value to the reader, they’ll be much more likely to click the link in your bio box and you’re going to get the traffic you want.

Higher rankings in the search engines is good — but traffic from satisfied readers is even better!
